Visit Poole’s Cavern car-free

Visit by bus for just £3 each way. Most buses in England are offering £3 single fares until March 2027. Our journey planner will show you if your route is included, or you can find a full list of participating operators and routes here.

Take a scenic train ride from Manchester Piccadilly to Buxton through the Peak District. From the station, you can either walk through the spa town (30 minutes) or catch one of several local buses part of the way, such as hourly bus 58 or bus 77 to Macclesfield Road (opposite Belvedere Terrace) – our journey planner will show you train and bus times and walking routes.

The Transpeak bus also runs between Derby and Matlock via Buxton Market Place. A Buxton PlusBus ticket can be bought with a train ticket, for unlimited travel across the Peak District National Park.
