What is the Good Journey Mark?

The Good Journey Mark is a ‘membership badge’ for visitor attractions and businesses that welcome car-free visitors – find out more.

What do you mean by car-free?

Any journey made without a private car – by train, bus, bike, foot, tram, ferry or taxi. We want to give everyone the choice to travel in a more sustainable and healthy way.

Isn't it more expensive by public transport?

There are lots of ways to save money on train and bus (over 60s can get free bus travel!) and you can enjoy a car-free discount at many Good Journey Mark attractions. Check out our tips for finding cheaper train tickets.

How can I find travel directions?

Every attraction on this website has a journey planner giving bus and train times from anywhere in the country, as well as walking and cycle routes. You can also plan any journey in the UK.
