Visit NT Carding Mill Valley car-free

Visit by bus for just £2 each way. Most buses in England are offering £2 Single Fares until 31st December 2024. Our journey planner will show you if your route is included, or you can find a full list of participating operators and routes here.

You can ride the train to Church Stretton direct from Shrewsbury, Hereford, Manchester and from North and South Wales. It’s a 30-minute stroll from the station to the visitor centre. There are also regular buses from Shrewsbury and Ludlow. Use our journey planner to get train and bus times and walking routes.

Free entry when you arrive car-free (there is a charge of £5-£7 for parking).

Cyclists welcome. You can bring bikes on the train to Church Stretton. There are 10 miles of off-road tracks and bridleways across the Long Mynd. Plan your cycle route here.

There are many long-distance walking routes in the Shropshire Hills, including the Jack Mytton Way which passes through Carding Mill Valley.
