It takes a little planning to visit Oxburgh Estate car-free.
The on-demand flexibus+ can be booked in advance from Swaffham to take you right to Oxburgh (phone 01760 305022 or download the app). There are connecting buses to Swaffham from Dereham, Kings Lynn, Norwich and Peterborough.
Alternatively, you can book a taxi in advance from Downham Market or Brandon train stations.

By bus via Swaffham
There are direct buses to Swaffham from Dereham (bus 11, about 25 mins), Kings Lynn (buses B and C or bus 32, 30 mins), Norwich (buses A and C, 60 mins) and Peterborough (buses A and B, 2 hrs).
You can then book a journey on flexibus+ from Swaffham to Oxburgh Estate – call 01760 305022 or download the app or book online. Buses run on request daily (except Sundays) and the journey should take about 10-15 minutes.

By train via Downham Market
There are direct trains to Downham Market from: Kings Lynn (about 15 mins), Ely (20 mins) Cambridge (40 mins) and London Kings Cross (95 mins).
At Ely there are connecting trains from Thetford (25 mins), Peterborough (40 mins) and Norwich (60 mins).
By train via Brandon
There are direct trains to Brandon from: Thetford (5-10 mins), Ely ( about15 mins), Attleborough (20 mins), Wymondham (30 mins), Cambridge (35 mins), Norwich (40 mins) and Stanstead Airport (60 mins).
At Ely there are connecting trains from Thetford (25 mins), Peterborough (40 mins) and Norwich (60 mins).

On the edge of the Norfolk Brecks, moated Oxburgh Hall has been the Bedingfeld family home for more than 500 years. Its Victorian Gothic interiors are filled with portraits and treasured objects collected by the family. Outside, there are formal gardens, a productive walled garden, a display glasshouse and a French parterre, alongside a wildlife-rich 200-acre estate with woodland, parkland, and chalk stream habitat.
