Visit Holkham car-free
There are hourly buses from King’s Lynn and Fakenham, with connecting buses and trains from further afield. It’s a one-mile walk through the park from the bus stop to the Hall. Use our journey planner above to get bus times and walking route.

Cyclists welcome. Holkham is on National Route 1, on easy flat lanes. There are bike racks in the courtyard. Enjoy a 30% discount when you arrive by bike. Plan your cycle route here.
Holkham Beach is on the beautiful and flat Norfolk Coast Path. From the the coast path, it’s about 1.5 miles via Holkham Village to Holkham Hall (allow 45 minutes). Alternatively, you can leave the Coast Path at Wells-next-the-Sea, for a 2-mile walk to Holkham Hall (allow an hour). Enjoy a 30% discount when you arrive on foot.

By bus
From King’s Lynn
Lynx Coastliner bus 36 runs regularly to Holkham village, via Dersingham, Hunstanton and Burnham Market. The journey from King’s Lynn takes about 95 mins, from Hunstanton about 45 mins.
From Fakenham
Lynx Coastliner bus 36 runs regularly to Holkham village, via Wells-next-the-Sea, taking about 45 mins.
From Cromer & Sheringham
Sanders Coasthopper bus CH1 runs regularly to Wells-next-the-Sea, from where you can either walk to Holkham (2 miles), or change onto bus 36 to Holkham Village. There are good connections between buses in Wells-next-the-Sea in both directions Monday to Saturdays (fewer on Sundays).
From Norwich
First bus X29 runs regularly (except Sundays) from Norwich Red Lion Street to Fakenham. Change onto bus 36, which runs reglarly from Oak Street to Holkham village.
From the bus stop in Holkham Village, it’s a one-mile walk stroll through the park to Holkham Hall.

By train and bus
Trains run from London King’s Cross via Cambridge and Ely to King’s Lynn, where you can connect with bus 36 to Holkham.
You can also take the train via Norwich to Cromer or Sheringham for onward buses to Holkham (as above).
