Visit Pensthorpe Natural Park car-free
Buses run from Norwich and Fakenham, hourly Monday to Saturday, and stop right at the end of the drive. There are connecting buses and trains from further afield. Use our journey planner above to get bus and train times.
Enjoy £4 off (£3 off senior/child) when you arrive car-free with a valid bus ticket or bike. If you have a senior bus pass, please ask the bus driver for a travel receipt.
Cyclists welcome. National Route 1 passes through Fakenham. From there it’s 2.5 miles to Pensthorpe (partly on busy main road) – here’s the route. You’ll enjoy a £4 discount when you arrive by bike. Plan your cycle route here.

Getting to Pensthorpe Natural Park car-free

By bus
First Norfolk bus X29 (Yellow Line) runs regularly Mondays to Saturdays (none on Sundays) between Norwich, Red Lion Street (stop BJ) and Fakenham, Oak Street. The bus stops just a few steps from the entrance to Pensthorpe – take care crossing the road.
There are also connecting buses to Fakenham, Oak Street – from Sheringham and Holt bus 9, Hunstanton and Wells bus 36 and King’s Lynn bus 49 – where you can connect with bus X29 for the 10-minute ride to Pensthorpe (Monday to Saturday).
From the bus stop, it’s an easy about 7-minute walk down the drive to Reception. Our journey planner will show you bus times and walking routes.
By train and bus via Norwich
There are frequent trains to Norwich from London Liverpool Street, Chelmsford, Colchester, Ipswich and other East Anglian towns.
It’s about a 12-minute walk from Norwich train station to the bus stop at Tombland (Stop CM).

By train and bus via King's Lynn
There are frequent trains to King’s Lynn from London King’s Cross, Cambridge and Ely. It’s a 2-minute walk to King’s Lynn Transport Interchange.
By train and bus via Sheringham
There are frequent trains from Norwich, Wroxham, North Walsham and Cromer to Sheringham. It’s a 2-minute walk to the bus stop on Railway Approach.
