From York railway station, York Minster is a ten-minute walk. Several local buses also run from outside the railway station to Exhibition Square near the minster, including bus 1 which runs frequently.

There are direct trains to York from: Leeds (about 25 mins), Newcastle (60 mins), Sheffield (70 mins), and cities across England and Scotland. When you travel by train, a York PlusBus ticket offers unlimited travel around the city by bus.
