Visit Stanborough Park car-free
It’s quite easy to visit Stanborough Park, it’s Water Sports Centre and Splashlands car-free. It is a half-hour green walk from the train station, or you can take a direct bus ride.
A Welwyn Garden City PlusBus train ticket takes you straight to Stanborough Park. The bus station is about a 5-minute stroll from Welwyn Garden City train station. Buses 302, 601 and 405 leave from Stop E or D. The journey takes 5-10 minutes.
A Hatfield PlusBus train ticket also takes you to Stanborough Lakes. Buses bus 302 and bus 405 leave frequently from Hatfield train station, Stop 5 or 2. The journey takes about 10 minutes.
There are also buses to Stanborough from: St Albans train station (40 mins, bus 601 and bus 302), Hemel Hempstead (70 mins, bus 302) and Borehamwood (85 mins, bus 601).
There are direct trains to Welwyn Garden City from: Finsbury Park (25 mins), Letchworth Garden City (25 mins), Kings Cross (30 mins), Highbury & Islington (40 mins), Moorgate (50 mins) and Cambridge (55 mins).

About Stanborough Park
Covering 126 acres, 2 main lakes and a model boating lake, Stanborough Park fits in a lot of fun. The nautical-themed adventure playground is beside a splashpad with a paddling river and '67 water jets that shoot up 1.5m in the air'. Try your hand at: open water swimming, sailing, kayaking, canoeing, stand up paddle boarding, rowing boats, pedalos, water walkers, rafting and even healthy walks.
