About River Lee Country Park
The 1,000 acre River Lee Country Park forms part of the 26-mile Lee Valley Regional Park. The regional park was set up in the 1960s to transform a former industrial river into a 'great playground'.
This section includes all manor of water: river, canal, reedbeds, lakes, wet meadows, scrapes, ditches, pools, muddy margins and dry meadows. Spot the birds and dragonflies or stay at the youth hostel in Cheshunt, hire boats in Broxbourne or try white water sports in Waltham Cross.
