It’s easy to reach the RHS Flower Show at Tatton Park car-free. There will be a frequent, free shuttle bus from Altrincham tram and train station. Regular trains also run to Knutsford, for a stroll through the park (or minibus from Knutsford Gate).
Altrincham is 25 minutes from central Manchester by train or tram. It is on the Green and Purple Metro lines. There are also direct trains to Knutsford from Chester. There are connecting trains to Manchester and Chester from across the North of England and beyond.

From Manchester via the free shuttle bus
There are direct trams from Manchester to Altrincham Interchange. Trams leave St Peter’s Square frequently on the Green and Purple lines. The journey takes about 25 minutes.
There are also direct trains from Manchester to Altrincham train station. Trains leave Manchester Piccadilly regularly. The journey takes 25 minutes. There are also direct trains to Altrincham from Stockport (15 mins).
Buses run direct to Altrincham Interchange from Stockport (bus 11), Warrington (bus X5 and bus CAT5) and other parts of Manchester. Use our journey planner to find the best route from where you are.
Free festival shuttle buses run direct to the Show from Altrincham train station every half hour, from 9.30am. The journey takes about 20 minutes. Return buses leave from the Mansion House entrance, and the last bus departs at 5.30pm. This is a map of the site.
By train via Knutsford
There are direct trains to Knutsford train station from: Northwich (10 mins), Stockport (30 mins), Manchester Piccadilly (40 mins) and Chester (45 mins). Trains leave regularly.
It’s then a 10-walk to the Knutsford Gate. From Knutsford Gate it’s a further 30-minute stroll through the park, or there’s a accessible minibus service to the Show entrance. Here’s a map of the site.
From further afield via Manchester
There are connecting trains to Manchester Piccadilly train station from: Bolton (15 mins), Macclesfield, Warrington (25 mins), New Mills (35 mins), Stoke-on-Trent, Preston (40 mins), Liverpool (50 mins), Lancaster, Huddersfield, Buxton (60 mins), Leeds (65 mins) and around the country.
Hop on the train to Altrincham train station from Manchester Piccadilly. You can also ride the tram to Altrincham Interchange from stations such as: Bury, Old Trafford and Deansgate.
