Bus 505 runs a few times per day from Windermere train station to Coniston (about 55 mins), via Brockhole (55 mins), Ambleside (40 mins) and Hawkshead (20 mins). Bus X12 also runs from Ulverston (35 mins).

Then jump on the Coniston Launch or SY Gondola, crossing the Coniston Waters directly to Brantwood (30 mins).

There are direct trains to Windermere from: Manchester (110 mins), Preston (55 mins), Lancaster (35 mins), Oxenholme (20 mins) and Kendal (15 mins). There are connections from London, Glasgow, Carlisle and all cities in the North of England.
