It’s just a 15-minute ride on Bus 36 from Harrogate to Main Street in Ripley. From there it’s a 5-minute stroll to the castle entrance. When you travel by train, a Harrogate PlusBus ticket gives you unlimited local bus travel as far as Ripley.

Trains to Harrogate run regularly from Knaresborough (10 minutes), Leeds (35 minutes), York (35 mins) and London Kings Cross (2 hours).
