About NT Winkworth Arboretum
The National Trust’s only arboretum is a profusion of colour in any season, from pink camellias and glades of daffs to gold beech trees and scarlet maples. In 1937 Wilfrid Fox, a dermatologist with a passion for trees, first began planting different species on land near his farmhouse in the wooded Surrey hills, deliberately creating a landscape for future generations to enjoy.
