Visit Spa Valley Railway car-free
There are excellent public transport links to both ends of the Spa Valley Railway – Tunbridge Wells West and Eridge.
To Tunbridge Wells
Regular buses run to Tunbridge Wells. Catch bus 29 from Brighton, Lewes, Uckfield and Crowborough, or bus 291 from Crawley, Three Bridges and East Grinstead. There are also frequent bus services from the surrounding Kent towns of Edenbridge, Hawkhurst, Maidstone, Paddock Wood, Sevenoaks, Tenterden and Tonbridge. Buses arrive at either Royal Victoria Place, 25-minutes walk from the Spa Valley Railway, or Tunbridge Wells Railway Station, which is 15-minutes walk. Alternatively, you can hop on a local bus for the short journey to the Spa Valley Railway at Tunbridge Wells West.
Southeastern Railway runs a frequent service to Tunbridge Wells from London Charing Cross, Waterloo East and London Bridge via Orpington, Sevenoaks and Tonbridge, and also from Hastings. From the station it is a 15-minute walk to the Spa Valley Railway, or hop on a local bus from outside the station for the short ride to the Sainsbury’s stop, which is next to the Spa Valley Railway.
To Eridge
Bus 29 from Brighton, Lewes, Uckfield and Crowborough stops right outside SVR’s station in Eridge.
There’s an hourly train service to Eridge run by Southern Railway, from London Bridge, East Croydon, Oxted and Edenbridge Town, also from Uckfield. Just cross to platforms 2 and 3 for the Spa Valley Railway trains.
