Ad Gefrin is located in Wooler, on the edge of the Northumberland National Park. The village-centre site overlooks Scott’s Park.
Buses take an hour from Berwick-upon-Tweed or Alnwick, and stop 5 minutes’ walk away.

View the Northumberland Coast National Landscape from trains on the East Coast Mainline from Edinburgh and York. Travel from the South for a great view of the Tyne river bridges. If you travel through the remote landscapes from Carlise, then look out for Hadrian’s Wall on the river Tyne Valley Line.
Newcastle, Berwick-upon-Tweed and Alnmouth are on the scenic East Coast Mainline.

Cycle path National Route 68 goes to Wooler on-road from the North and South. You could also cycle West. Plan your cycle route here straight to the bike rack.
Alternative Coast to Coast, Reiver’s Way and St Cuthbert’s Way footpaths pass through Wooler.

By bus from Berwick-upon-Tweed
Buses 464, 267, 266 stop nearby. Buses leave from Berwick-upon-Tweed train station (stop by the Castle pub) and Golden Square bus shelter fairly regularly. The journey takes 50-60 minutes. Hop off at Wooler bus station shelter. It’s then about a 5-minute stroll to Ad Gefrin. Walk Left along Market Place, and continue along The Peth.
By bus from Alnwick
Bus 473 stops nearby. Buses leave from Alnwick bus station shelter a few times per day. The journey takes 50-60 minutes. Hop off at Wooler bus station shelter. It’s then about a 5-minute stroll. Walk Left along Market Place, and continue along The Peth.
By train or coach via Berwick-upon-Tweed
There are direct trains to Berwick-upon-Tweed train station from: Alnmouth (20 mins), Darlington (70 mins), Durham (60 mins), Edinburgh (45 mins), Morpeth (30 mins), Newcastle (45 mins), York (2 hours) and London (4 hours) on the scenic East Coast Mainline.
