It’s easy to reach Bamburgh Castle between Berwick-upon-Tweed and Alnwick car-free.

Bus X18 and X18 from Berwick-upon-Tweed stop not far from Bamburgh Castle. Buses leave from Golden Square regularly. The journey takes about 40 minutes. Jump off at Lord Crewe Hotel in front of the castle. Enter the castle lawn and stroll for about 10 minutes to reach the castle.

There are also buses from: Alnwick near Alnmouth (about 70 mins, buses X18, X18 and 418) and Morpeth (2 hrs 30 mins, bus X18).

There are direct trains to Berwick-upon-Tweed from: Alnmouth (about 20 mins), Morpeth (30 mins), Edinburgh (45 mins), Newcastle (45 mins), Durham (60 mins), Darlington (70 mins), Glasgow (110 mins), York (2 hours) and London (4 hours).
