For journeys wholly within County Durham you can buy a Durham Day Rover and travel all day for just £5.
Passengers aged 5-21 can get £1 single or £3 regionwide day tickets. However, kids aged 5-11 travel free on the bus with an adult during school holidays (up to three children aged 11 and under). This offer applies within the North East Combined Authority – County Durham, Gateshead, Newcastle, North Tyneside, Northumberland, South Tyneside, and Sunderland.

By bus from Durham
Two buses bring you to Bearpark from Durham.
Bus 52 leaves from Durham bus station stand H a few times per day (none on Sundays). The journey takes about 20 minutes. Hop off just before Ushaw’s main entrance – ask the driver to let you know. Cross the road carefully.
Bus 48 leaves from Durham bus station frequently (regularly on Sundays). The journey takes about 10-15 minutes. Hop off at Bearpark (Aged Miners Homes) shelter – ask the driver to let you know. It’s then a 15-20 minute walk to Ushaw. Continue out of town and walk until you see the Ushaw entrance on the Right. Cross the road carefully.
From Durham train station
It’s about a 5-minute walk to Millburngate or a 15-minute walk from Durham trains station to Durham bus station.
