Visit Locomotion car-free

Visit by bus for just £2 each way. Most buses in England are offering £2 Single Fares until 31st December 2024. Our journey planner will show you if your route is included, or you can find a full list of participating operators and routes here.

It’s easy to visit Locomotion car-free. It’s a short walk from Shildon railway station near Darlington.

Bishop Auckland or Newton Aycliffe (both about 5mins), Darlington (15 mins), Eaglescliffe (40 mins), Thornaby (45 mins), Middlesbrough (50 mins), Red Car (65 mins), Saltburn (75 mins), Red Car

Bus 1 and bus 5 from Bishop Auckland (about 30 mins) and Darlington (30 mins) also stop on Dale Road, just outside Locomotion. Bus 99 runs to Shildon from Spennymoor.
