How to get toLocomotioncar-free

Visit Locomotion car-free

Locomotion is a short walk from Shildon railway station. Shildon has trains every hour from Bishop Auckland (7 minutes away) and every two hours from Darlington.

Bus 1 and bus 5 from Bishop Auckland to Darlington also stop on Dale Road, just outside Locomotion.

If you’re planning a day out in the area you might find a Bishop Train and Bus Day Ranger useful.

About Locomotion

George Stephenson’s 1825 Locomotion made railway history in this town. Now, together with the National Railway Museum site in York, it forms the world’s biggest railway museum with historic engines, carriages, and interactive displays.
