Visit The Lost Gardens of Heligan car-free
It’s surprisingly easy to find The Lost Gardens of Heligan car-free.
From bus stand B outside St Austell railway station, bus 24 and bus 23 run a few times per day to the Lost Gardens of Heligan.
There are trains to St Austell from: Plymouth (1 hour), Penzance (1 hour), Exeter (2 hours), Bristol (3.5 hours), London (4.5 hours) and Cardiff (4.5 hours).
There is also a Summer-Only ferry service from Fowey to Mevagissey, about 1.5 miles walk from Heligan, or a short bus ride.
There is also an off-road link to the Lost Gardens from the Coast and Clay Cycle Trail. On foot, the gardens are 1½ miles off the South West Coast Path and there is a public footpath up from Mevagissey.

200 acres of subtropical gardens, rescued from neglect in the late 20th-century, paths wind through bamboo tunnels and over rope bridges, under huge tree ferns and flowering creepers.
