It’s surprisingly easy to find The Lost Gardens of Heligan car-free.

Bus 29, bus 23 and bus G3 run a few times per day to the Gardens from St Austell. Bus 29 leaves from the bus station, and others from the town.

There are trains to St Austell from: Plymouth (1 hour), Penzance (1 hour), Exeter (2 hours), Bristol (3.5 hours), London (4.5 hours) and Cardiff (4.5 hours).

There is also a Summer-Only ferry service from Fowey to Mevagissey, about 1.5 miles walk from Heligan, or a short bus ride.

There is also an off-road link to the Lost Gardens from the Coast and Clay Cycle Trail. On foot, the gardens are 1½ miles off the South West Coast Path and there is a public footpath up from Mevagissey.
