Visit Plas Mawr Elizabethan Town House car-free

Conwy station is a couple of minutes’ stroll from Plas Mawr. Walk a few steps left along the main road and turn right onto High Street to find it.

There are trains to Conwy from Chester, Shrewsbury, Holyhead and beyond.

Bus 5 from Bangor also stops at Conwy railway station.

Plas Mawr means “great hall” and this grand building is Britain’s finest surviving Elizabethan town house. Seventeen impressive rooms and a lovely garden have been restored to their Elizabethan glory days, showcasing the era’s love of elaborate and colourful designs.
