Visit Matlock Farm Park car-free
It’s quite easy to visit Matlock Farm Park car-free.
Buses stop a 5-minute walk away from Matlock Farm Park. Buses from Matlock (5-10 minutes), Chesterfield (25 minutes), Sheffield (70 minutes) and Wirksworth (40 minutes).
Buses run from Matlock and Wirksworth, but unfortunately for the return journey you will need to book a taxi or take a 45-minute walk to the bus stop.
Trains run to Matlock from: Derby (30 mins) and Nottingham (70 mins). Travel inwards from the train station by bus.

Taxis may wait outside Chesterfield train station, or book ahead with: A Line – 01246 555 555, Central – 01246 200 500 or City – 01246 222 222.
When the direct bus is not running, footpaths from the bus stop can be followed on the OS Map or OpenStreetMap. It takes about 45 minutes. Otherwise, it’s an 80-minute walk from Matlock train station via paths leading from Bent Lane.

Bus X17 Gold runs twice per day from:
- Cromford Market Place (35 mins)
- Matlock Bakewell Road Stand 1 near M&S (5-10 mins).
- Wirksworth Market Place (40 mins)
Jump off at Matlock Farm Park and walk for about 5 minutes to the entrance.
At other times or for return journeys: Hop off bus X17 Gold or bus 63 at Wayside Farm on Chesterfield Road, Matlock Moor to walk along the footpath, or at Lant Lane on Chesterfield Road, Amber Hill to walk along the lane.

By bus from Chesterfield
Bus X17 Gold runs twice per day from:
- Barnsley indoor Interchange A1 (2 hrs 10 mins)
- Meadowhall Interchange A4 (95 mins)
- Sheffield indoor Centre Interchange D4 (70 mins)
- Chesterfield sheltered Coach Station Bay D (20 mins).
Jump off at Matlock Farm Park and walk for about 5 minutes to the entrance.

Bus 63 leaves from St Bartholomews Church a few times per day (none on Sundays). The journey takes about 25 minutes. Hop off at Wayside Farm on Chesterfield Road, Matlock Moor to walk along the footpath. Hop off at Lant Lane on Chesterfield Road, Amber Hill to walk along the lane.

By train via Matlock
There are regular trains to Matlock from:

Peak Rail runs from Rowsley South (30 mins) and Darley Dale (15 mins) to Matlock.
