Visit Gulliver’s Kingdom car-free

Visit by bus for just £2 each way. Most buses in England are offering £2 Single Fares until 31st December 2024. Our journey planner will show you if your route is included, or you can find a full list of participating operators and routes here.

It’s easy to visit Gulliver’s Kingdom car-free.

Travel by train to Matlock Bath from: Derby (30 mins), Matlock (2 mins) and Nottingham (70 mins). From the Matlock Bath Train station take a 10-minute walk to Gulliver’s Kingdom.

Change trains at Derby from: Birmingham New Street (35 mins), Leicester (30 mins) or Sheffield (30 mins).

Buses stop a 5-minute walk away from Gulliver’s Kingdom. Travel by bus from: Bakewell (35 mins), Belper (20 mins), Buxton (70 mins), Chesterfield (70 mins), Derby (45 mins) and other towns.

A Matlock or Buxton PlusBus ticket gives you unlimited bus travel around the area, including Gulliver’s Kingdom from the train stations. However, PlusBus tickets are not available when arriving at Matlock Bath train station.

The bus or train Wayfarer from Sheffield and Derby or bus Wayfarer from Manchester give you unlimited travel around the area. Or find the best ticket for bus X17, The Sixes, TransPeak (PeakPlus fares valid from Buxton, PeakPlusExtra from elsewhere), 140, 110&111.

Scenic Derwent Valley Train Line to Matlock Bath has a downloadable activity book which includes a fun family walking trail from each station and numerous family-orientated quizzes and activities to take part in.

Peak Rail runs from Rowsley South and Darley Dale to Matlock, where you can change for Matlock Bath.

Cycle routes National Route 680 goes to Matlock and 54 to Cromford. Plan your cycle route here.

Footpath the Derbyshire Dawdle passes the outer edge of Gulliver’s Kingdom. Clough Walk and Derwent Valley Heritage Way go past at the front of the theme park. You can walk to High Tor and Riber or High Tor and Giddy Edge.

You can walk along the canal from: Matlock (30 mins), Cromford (40 mins), Whatstandwell (95 mins) and Ambergate (over 2 hrs).
