It’s easy, as the museum is located in Coventry city centre, close to the Cathedral. Buses stop almost outside and the train station is a 10-15 minute walk away.

Trains run from: Birmingham New Street (20 mins), Milton Keynes (35 mins), Oxford (50 mins), London Euston (55 mins), Stafford (60 mins) and many other stations.

Buses run from: Solihull (65 mins), Leicester (75 mins), Birmingham (85 mins) and towns across Warwickshire.

When you travel by train, a Coventry PlusBus ticket gives you unlimited travel by bus and tram across the entire West Midlands. Otherwise, try a West Midlands network ticket.

View the Kenilworth Castle and Coventry Cathedral from trains on the Elephant and Bear Line, which runs between Nuneaton and Leamington Spa. Kid’s activity books can be downloaded to accompany your journey.

Cycle path, National Route 52 runs along the nearby canal. You can hire bikes from West Midlands Cycle Hire at the museum or Foregate Boulevard near the train station. Park your own bike at the museum. Plan your route here

Footpaths Coventry Canal Walk and Oxford Canal Walk are a 15-minute walk from the museum. Please use the footbridge over the inner ring-road.

You can also explore the city centre with rail trails (the museum is ‘7’ on the Coventry map). Herbert Art Gallery & Museum is part of the Coventry Peace Trail too.
