Visit Green’s Windmill and Science Centre car-free
It’s quite easy to visit Green’s Mill at Green’s Mill park car-free. Nottingham train/ tram and bus stations are about a 20-minute walk away.
Frequent bus 43 from the city centre stops a minute away, and 44, 44A and 50 also stop nearby on Lower Eldon Street.
There are direct buses to Nottingham from towns such as Derby (30 mins) and Mansfield (45 mins). There are coaches from most major cities.
There are direct trains to Nottingham from cities across England and Wales, such as: Sheffield (about 55 mins), Birmingham (75 mins), London St Pancras (95 mins), Manchester (110 mins), Leeds (110 mins) and other towns across England and Wales. About Green’s Windmill and Science Centre
Watch this working windmill make organic flour using traditional equipment. Bags of produce are available in the shop.
The mill was the home of scientist George Green. you can find out about his work and try some of your own experiments in the science centre, where you can play with light, electricity and magnetism.
Later, relax in the community vegetable garden or play in the park playground.
