It’s easy to visit The Whitaker Museum car-free.

Bus 464 runs frequently from Accrington (about 25 mins) bus station towards Rochdale. Bus 481 runs regularly from Bury (45 mins) and Blackburn (50 mins). Hop off at Whitaker Park. Rawstenstall also has a steam train, which runs occasionally from Heywood via Bury.

There are direct trains to Accrington from around Lancashire and Yorkshire. Or you can ride the tram from Manchester to Bury. Then hop of the bus (as above).
