It’s easy to visit Lauriston Castle car-free. It’s located between Cramond and Silverknowes, a 20-30 minute bus ride from Princes Street in central Edinburgh.
Buses 29 and bus 37 run to Silverknowes Terminus along Crewe Road South. The journey takes about 30 minutes. Jump off at Silverknowes Terminus. It’s then a 5-10 minute walk. Pass the roundabout onto Lauriston Farm Road, turn Right past the carvery and onto the footpath. Enter via the side entrance (which has a style).
Various X buses run to Hillpark Steps along Queensferry Road. The journey takes about 20 minutes. It’s then a 15-minute walk. Head up Quality Street with Davidson’s Mains Park on your Left. Continue up Crammond Road South, passing the shops on your Right.
Trains run to Edinburgh Waverley from: Stirling (40 mins), Glasgow (55 mins), Perth (75 mins), Carlisle (80 mins), Dundee (90 mins) and Newcastle (95 mins).
