Visit Avebury car-free
Bus 49 runs direct from Swindon and Devises to Avebury every hour (2-hourly on Sundays). The less frequent bus 42 runs from Calne and Marlborough. Get off at the Red Lion in Avebury, which is right at the centre of the site.
The nearest train station is Swindon. It’s a 5-minute walk to the bus station (Bay 6), to catch bus 49 for the 30-minute ride to Avebury.
There are regular trains to Swindon from Reading, London Paddington, Cheltenham Spa, Bristol Temple Meads, Gloucester and Swansea.
