Visit Westonbirt The National Arboretum car-free
Bus 69 runs from Stroud to Westonbirt several times daily, Monday to Saturday, allowing for a 3 or 6 hour visit. There are direct trains to Stroud from London, Reading, Swindon and Gloucester.
Cyclists are welcome. There are cycle racks at the Welcome Building and Westonbirt are happy to look after helmets/gear. No cycling is allowed inside the arboretum. You can book your bike onto the train to Kemble, from where it’s a 15-mile cycle. Plan your cycle route here.

Via Stroud
Take the train to Stroud. Trains run direct from London, Reading, Swindon and Gloucester.
Walk to the bus stop at Merrywalks – it’s a 5-minute walk (use journey planner for map).
Hop on Bus 69 from Merrywalks (Stop K). Buses run Monday to Saturday, reaching Westonbirt in 50 minutes.
From the bus stop at the entrance to Westonbirt it’s a 1/3 mile stroll up the drive to the Welcome Building (use journey planner for map).
