Visit Urquhart Castle car-free
From Inverness bus station, bus 919 (every couple of hours) stops by Urquhart Castle car park, five minutes’ walk from the castle. The bus takes just over ½ hour from Inverness. Inverness bus station is a short, signed walk from the train station.
There are regular trains to Inverness from Dingwall (30 mins), Elgin (40 minutes), Aberdeen (2¼ hours) and beyond.

The huge remains of a craggy medieval castle on the dramatic shores of Loch Ness. Embattled, fought over and finally blown up during the Jacobite Risings, these ruined walls have witnessed a thousand eventful years of Scottish history.
