Visit The Courtyard car-free
There are regular trains to Hereford from London, Birmingham, Worcester, Manchester, Shrewsbury and South Wales. Buses run from all surrounding towns. It’s less than 15 minutes’ walk to The Courtyard. Our journey planner shows you train and bus times and walking routes.

Hereford has over 20 miles of traffic free paths. National Route 46 passes close to The Courtyard, and Route 44 links to the west and south of the city. There’s covered parking for 20 cycles, plus 4 stands by the main entrance. Plan your cycle route here.

Getting to The Courtyard car-free

By bus
Buses are a great way to reach The Courtyard in the daytime, but there are no buses in the evening.
Buses run from all parts of the city and surrounding villages. There are also buses from the surrounding towns of Abergavenny, Bromyard, Hay-on-Wye, Kington, Ledbury, Leominster, Llandrindod Wells, Monmouth, Ross on Wye and Worcester.
City bus services terminate at either the City Bus Station (5-minute walk to The Courtyard) or Shire Hall (15-minute walk). Buses from neighbouring towns terminate at the Country Bus Station (15-minute walk). Our journey planner will show you bus times and walking routes.
By train
There are regular trains to Hereford on the following routes, including evenings:
Great Western Railway – trains from London via Reading, Oxford, Worcester, Malvern Link, Great Malvern, Colwall and Ledbury
West Midlands Railway – trains from Birmingham via Droitwich, Worcester, Malvern Link, Great Malvern, Colwall and Ledbury
Transport for Wales – trains from Manchester via Crewe, Shrewsbury, Church Stretton, Craven Arms, Ludlow and Leominster
Transport for Wales – trains from Cardiff via Newport, Cwmbran, Pontypool and Abergavenny

About The Courtyard
The Courtyard is Herefordshire’s centre for the arts attracting over 300,000 visitors every year from all over the UK. A varied programme of events includes live performances, cinema, workshops, classes and visual arts.
The Courtyard is open to the public Monday – Saturday from 10am. Pop by anytime to wander around, have a bite in the Café Bar, muse over the open exhibitions, browse our shop stocked by local makers, join in a dance workshop or, of course, experience spectacular film and sensational live shows.
