Many buses run to Ryde, such as buses from East Cowes (30 mins), Newport (30 mins) and Shanklin (40 mins). There are direct trains to Ryde Esplanade from all stations to Shanklin (about 30 mins).
The quickest Ferry to the Isle of White is to Ryde from Portsmouth Harbour. There are other ferries to the Isle of White from: Southampton (to Cowes or East Cowes), Lymington (to Yarmouth), and Portsmouth (to Fishbourne or Ryde).
