How to get toFloors Castlecar-free

Visit Floors Castle car-free

From Tweedbank railway station, hourly bus 67 stops at Orchard Park in Kelso close to Floors Castle gates. The castle itself is a beautiful ½ hour stroll through the woods from here. Bus 67 also runs to Kelso from Berwick-upon-Tweed railway station, but stops in the centre of town meaning visitors need to walk further or change buses there.

There are regular trains to Tweedbank from Edinburgh along the scenic Borders railway. Trains to Berwick-upon-Tweed run from Newcastle, Edinburgh, London Kings Cross and beyond.

Scotland’s largest lived-in castle was built for the first Duke of Roxburghe in the early eighteenth century. With a Victorian Walled Garden, herbaceous borders and a cycle trail through the woods, it’s a fabulous family day out.
