Visit by bus for just £2 each way. Most buses in England are offering £2 Single Fares until 31st December 2024. Our journey planner will show you if your route is included, or you can find a full list of participating operators and routes here.

There are excellent public transport links to the Bluebell Railway’s station at East Grinstead.

There are frequent bus connections every day from the surrounding towns of Caterham, Crawley, Haywards Heath, Redhill, Three Bridges and Tunbridge Wells. Use our journey planner to find bus times.

Southern Railway runs frequent trains to East Grinstead from London Victoria, Clapham Junction, East Croydon and Oxted. The Bluebell station is right beside the mainline station.

If travelling from the South Coast, or from Thameslink Stations north of London, you may find it easier to take the train to Three Bridges, from where there are frequent buses to East Grinstead.

On Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays bus 270 runs direct to the Bluebell’s Horsted Keynes Station from Brighton, Burgess Hill and Haywards Heath. (On Mondays to Fridays catch this service to Horsted Keynes village, and walk the final mile to the station).

On Saturdays bus 121 provides a direct link to the Bluebell’s Sheffield Park Station from Lewes.

About Bluebell Railway

All aboard this 19th century steam train for breath-taking views of the East Sussex countryside. Hear the chug of the engine, smell the oily aroma of the steam as it mixes with the evocative sight of a sea of bluebells.

The railway runs for 11 miles through glorious Sussex countryside between East Grinstead, Kingscote, Horsted Keynes and Sheffield Park. Rover Tickets allow you to hop on and off all day. Special events and dining trains.
