Visit Slimbridge Wetland Centre car-free

It’s a bit of an adventure to visit Slimbridge Wetland Centre car-free.

Bus 65 runs regularly to Slimbridge village from Stroud (50 mins) and Gloucester (45 mins). Get off at the stop just after the roundabout (Slimbridge crossroads), from where it’s about a 45-minute walk (2 miles) along lanes to the Centre.

There are direct trains to Cam & Dursley from: Gloucester (about 10 mins), Cheltenham Spa (30 mins) Bristol stations (35 mins) and Worcester (55 mins). It’s about an hour’s walk (3.5 mile) to the Centre, or you can book a taxi for around £10 from Cam and Dursley Taxis 07577 753530 or Dursley Taxis 07475 313151.

About Slimbridge Wetland Centre

Use the family friendly Wetland Heroes app to identify creatures such as rare geese and flamingos. Explore canoe guided walks, viewing platforms, hides and even a hotel. Visit the interactive Arctic exhibition and Scott House museum to find out about the founder of of the WWT and WWF. Children could go pond dipping, or play in the Riverlife Playground and Welly Boot Land.
