There are direct trains to Kings Lynn from Downham Market (about 15 mins), Ely (35 mins) Cambridge (50 mins) and London Kings Cross (115 mins). At Ely there are connecting trains from Thetford (25 mins), Peterborough (40 mins) and Norwich (60 mins).

From Wells-next-the-Sea and Hunstanton by bus
Coastliner bus 36 stops close to True’s Yard and runs from Hunstanton (about 55 mins) and Wells-next-the-Sea (105 mins). Buses are regular. Hop off at Austin Fields on John Kennedy Road. From Swaffam, Dereham, Peterborough and Norwich by bus
Buses A, B and C run to Kings Lynn from Swaffham (45 mins, buses A, B and C), Dereham (75 mins, buses A, B and C), Peterborough (85 mins, buses A, B and C) and Norwich (110 mins, buses A, B and C). Buses run frequently (fewer on Sundays). Hop off at the Transport Interchange. It’s then about a 10-minute stroll. Our journey planner will show you the best route from where you are.
From Fakenham by bus
Bus 49 and bus 49A to Kings Lynn run a few times per day and take 60 minutes. Coastliner bus 36 runs more regularly, but takes 80 minutes. Our journey planner will show you the best route from where you are.
By bus from other towns
Bus 37 stops nearby. Buses leave from Paradise Road regularly (none on Sundays). The journey takes about 30 minutes. Hope off at Kings Lynn transport interchange. It’s then a 5-10 minute stroll.
About True’s Yard Fisherfolk Museum
True’s Yard is a socially driven tourist attraction, community hub and education centre located in the North End of King's Lynn.
The Museum aims for visitors to discover and enjoy King's Lynn’s North End past and present through its remarkable heritage assets. At its heart is the last surviving fisherfolk yard with two late 18th century cottages, which are grade 2 listed buildings. There is also a Victorian smokehouse and fishing boat on site.
The Museum runs temporary exhibitions, lunchtime talks, family and local history classes and tours of the North End. You can also drop by to visit the Museum’s gift shop or enjoy a delicious slice of cake in our Georgian panelled tearoom - perfect for meetups and available to hire for events.
