Getting to RSPB Rainham Marshes car-free

By train
Trains to Purfleet run every 30 minutes from London Fenchurch Street, taking half an hour. Purfleet is the closest station, not Rainham. Search for train times and cheaper tickets with Good Journey.
From Purfleet station it’s an easy 20-minute walk to the visitor centre, following the brown signs along the riverside path. Our journey planner will show you train times and walking route.
By bus
Bus 44 runs regularly from Lakeside and Grays, stopping on Tank Hill Road near the entrance to the reserve.

About RSPB Rainham Marshes
Rainham Marshes is a haven for all kinds of wildlife – birds, water voles, dragonflies and more – to explore on foot or by bike. There are a number of hides which give great views of wildlife, even without binoculars – but you can also buy or hire a pair. You'll find a cafe, shop and bike hire at our Visitor Centre. Children will enjoy the adventure and toddlers playgrounds and climbing boulders, as well as family activities and events.
