It’s easy to reach the National Waterways Museum car-free as it is a pleasant stroll from the train station.

From Ellesmere Port railway station, the National Waterways Museum is a 15-minute walk (or short taxi ride). There is also a towpath beside the Shropshire Union canal leading directly to the museum – perfect for walkers and cyclists.

There are regular trains to Ellesmere Port from Liverpool: Liverpool Lime Street (about 40 mins), and Birkenhead (30 mins).

When you travel by train to Birkenhead, an Ellesmere Port PlusBus ticket gives you unlimited travel around the area by bus, including to Bebington. Many buses stop in Ellesmere Port, including buses 6, 7 and 1.
