It’s quite easy to visit Chester Zoo car-free.
Bus X1 runs regularly direct from Chester train station (Stop S6) and Chester bus interchange (Stand K) to Chester Zoo. The journey takes about 20 minutes.
There are direct trains to Chester from: Crewe (25 mins), Warrington (30 mins), Liverpool (45 mins), Manchester (65 mins), Llandudno (65 mins), Holyhead, Birmingham, Leeds and other towns.
