By bus from Chesterfield

From Chesterfield Stephenson Place (Stop K2) Stagecoach bus 1 and bus 1A run every 20 minutes (every 30 minutes on Sundays) to Bolsover in just 35 minutes. Bus 1 also runs hourly from Whaley Thorns and Shirebrook.

Hop off the bus at Bolsover, Market Place for a short walk to the Castle entrance.

By bus from Clay Cross, Mansfield or Sheffield

There are also regular bus services to Bolsover (except Sundays) from Clay Cross on bus 49, and Mansfield and Sheffield on bus 53.

By train via Chesterfield

There are regular train services to Chesterfield from London, Leicester and Derby; from Liverpool, Manchester and Sheffield; from Nottingham; from the South-West via Birmingham and from the North via York and Leeds.

From Chesterfield train station it’s a 10-minute walk to Stephenson Place (bus stop K2).

Alternatively, catch the frequent bus 1 or bus 1A to Bolsover. Buses run every day, taking about 35 minutes.

By train via Sheffield

You can also take the train to Sheffield, then walk to Sheffield Interchange (5 minutes).

Catch bus 53 (every 2 hours, except Sundays) from Stop B4 to Bolsover. The bus journey to Bolsover takes 1 hour.

By train via Mansfield

Alternatively, you can take the train to Mansfield, where it is a 5-minute walk to Mansfield Bus Station.
