It’s easy to visit Birdland car-free, as it is located at the edge of Bourton-on-the-Water.
Buses run to Bourton-on-the-Water from: Cheltenham Spa (45 mins), Moreton-in-Marsh train station (45 mins) and Kingham train station (40 mins).

Bikes can be hired from Cotswold Bike Hire or TY Cycles who deliver. Plan your cycle route to the entrance or cycle rack beside Rissington Road car-park’s public toilets.
Donnington Way footpath passes Birdland. The Monarch’s Way goes through Bourton-on-the-Water and the Windrush Way, Heart of England Way, Warden’s Way and Oxfordshire Way end there. There are many shorter walks, too.

By bus from Stow-on-the-Wold
Bus 801 leaves regularly (less on Sundays). Bus 802 leaves a few times per day (none on Sundays). Heritage bus 11 leaves a few times per day at the weekend and bank holidays in the Summer.
Get on at Stow-on-the-Wold Market Square. The journey takes 15-25 minutes.
Jump off at Bourton-on-the-Water High Street. It’s then about a 5-minute walk to Birdland, with the River Windrush on your Right.
By bus from Moreton-in-Marsh
Bus 801 leaves regularly (less on Sundays). Heritage bus 11 leaves a few times per day at the weekend and bank holidays in the Summer.
Get on at Moreton-in-Marsh train station. The journey takes about 40 minutes.
Jump off at Bourton-on-the-Water High Street. It’s then about a 5-minute walk to Birdland, with the River Windrush on your Right.

Bus 802 stops outside. Buses leave a few times per day (none on Sundays) from Kingham train station. The journey takes about 40 minutes. Jump off at the Birdland entrance signs.
By bus from Cirencester
Bus 855 stops nearby. Buses leave a few times per day (none on Sundays) from opposite The Forum car-park. The journey takes about 30 minutes. Jump off at Bourton-on-the-Water High Street. It’s then about a 5-minute walk to Birdland, with the River Windrush on your Right.
By heritage bus from Minster Lovell
Heritage bus 11 stops nearby. Buses leave a few times per day at the weekend and bank holidays in the Summer, from Brize Norton Road. The journey takes about 60 minutes. Jump off at Bourton-on-the-Water High Street. It’s then about a 5-minute walk to Birdland, with the River Windrush on your Right.
