Stagecoach bus 30 runs every hour (fewer on Sundays) from Gloucester, Cinderford and Coleford, dropping off at the entrance to Beechenhurst. The journey from Gloucester takes just under an hour.

From the bus stop at Beechenhurst it's an easy 1/3 mile walk up the driveway to the visitor centre - see map.

If you’re coming from further afield, there are direct trains to Gloucester from Cheltenham, Bristol, Swindon and beyond. Gloucester train station is next to the Transport Hub, from where hourly buses run to Beechenhurst (see above).

There are also local buses from Lydney which connect with the 30 bus to Beechenhurst – use journey planner below or visit traveline.

Bike routes

Beechenhurst is on NCN route 42 from Cinderford. You can bring bikes on the train to Lydney from where it’s a 7.5-mile uphill cycle – see cyclestreets – or you can hire bikes nearby.
