About Acorn Bank

Discover nature at the heart of Eden Valley. Serenity and tranquility ooze from every corner of the walled gardens where fruit trees nestle beside medicinal herbs and Great Crested Newts play hide and seek in the lily pond. The gardens and red sandstone manor house are set in rolling parkland with a backdrop of woodland where paths reveal a hidden gypsum mine, working watermill and wildlife, including red squirrels, otters and rare birds. The woodland floor, where Crowdundle Beck winds its way through the trees, is carpeted by wildflowers. Enjoy the woodlands full of flower in Spring, the Herbaceous borders at their best in June, and the Herb Garden full of fragrance in July or see the apple harvest in September.

A tramper mobility scooter is available to borrow and can be used to explore the gardens and some woodland paths. A Place to Change facility is located in the courtyard. The café serving hot and cold snacks, drinks and cakes is operated by Lakeland Coffee from Thursday to Monday. A well-stocked Second Hand Bookshop is located in the house.
