Visit Hastings Contemporary car-free
Trains run direct to Hastings from London Charing Cross and London Victoria. There are also frequent trains from Brighton, Lewes, Eastbourne, Bexhill and Ashford International. From Hastings station it’s a 20-minute walk, or a 5-minute bus ride, to the gallery. Use our journey planner to get train and bus times and walking routes.

Take a scenic rail journey from Eastbourne, Bexhill or Ashford International to Hastings on the Marshlink Line

Getting to Hastings Contemporary car-free
Here's our recommended route to Hastings Contemporary. To get bus and train times and walking routes use our journey planner.
By bus
From Eastbourne (Cornfield Road, stop C1) Stagecoach bus 99 runs every 20 minutes (hourly on Sundays). It’s an 80-minute ride from Eastbourne, via Pevensey Bay. Hop off at Harold Place, from where it’s a 15-minute walk along the seafront to the Gallery.
From Bexhill (The Harp) Stagecoach bus 98 and bus 99 run five times an hour (twice an hour on Sundays). The journey, via St Leonards, takes 35 minutes. Get off at Harold Place.
From Rye and Winchelsea Stagecoach bus 100 and bus 101 run every 30 minutes (hourly on Sundays). It’s a 40min ride from Rye to Hastings The Stade, close to The Gallery.
There are also buses to Hastings from Tenterden, Polegate, Hailsham, Herstmonceux, Hawkhurst, Robertsbridge, Battle, Cranbrook and Bodiam. Use our journey planner to get bus times and walking routes.
By train
Trains run direct to Hastings from London Charing Cross, via Sevenoaks and Tunbridge Wells, also from London Victoria via Gatwick Airport and Haywards Heath.
